Haapsalu gets hit by horror
Haapsalu should see all the fans of horror films during these four days from 16th to 19th of March as the first horror film festival ever organised in Estonia will take place in this coastal town with its own ghost - the White Lady.
The festival, organised in co-operation Haapsalu City, Haapsalu Culture Centre and the Black Nights Film Festival, will screen in the hall of Haapsalu Culture Centre a selection of classic and new horror films from a variety of countries (see the programme). Main character this year is Dracula, who is featured in three films.
The festival will be opened with new Swedish vampire story "Frostbite" and closed with "Deep in the Woods", a French version of Little Red Riding-Hood.
The opening party on 16 March will be with Estonian etno-metal band METSATÖLL and on 17 March will KesKus treat the festivalgoers with DJ Pickney Tiger's video disco. An exhibition "Hirmurõõm" (Joy of Horror) is open in Culture Centre on all days of the festival.
The organisers do not recommend the films for children under 16.
The festival tickets can be bought from Piletilevi (www.piletilevi.ee) and in Haapsalu Culture Centre an hour before each screening. Festival pass costs 300 EEK, day pass 90 EEK and single ticket 30-40 EEK. Festival pass or day pass holders will have a discount on accommodation in Haapsalu Sports Hall and Baltic Hotel Promenaad.
