Péter Kerekes - Slovakia
Péter Kerekes (b. 1973 in Kocice) is a Slovakian film-maker graduated from the faculty of film and television of the Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts Bratislava (FTF VSMU) with a degree in film direction. He is teaching film directing at the same department since 1999 and runs open atelier for fiction and non-fiction film with Prof. Ducan Hanák from 2002. He has made documentaries since 1994. His works include A Man about Book, A Book about Man (1994), About Three Days in the Monastery Jasov (1996), Morytats and Legends of Ladomirova (1998), The Mary-Valery Bridge (2000), Zuzana from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (2000), 66 Seasons (2003). Many of these have won prestigious prizes on various film festivals. He has produced a short animation and tried the job of a story editor and location manager at Georg Mish’ documentary I Am From Nowhere, both in 2002.
Mait Laas - Estonia
Mait Laas (b. 1970) is Estonian animation artist, author and director. He studied art at the Pedagogical University in Tallinn in 1989-1993 and completed MA degree in visual media at the Advanced School for Fine Arts in Vienna during 1993–1994. MA in art studies at Tallinn Pedagogical University followed in 1994–2000. Mait Laas has made animation films since 1993. He has won numerous prizes for his short animations among them the Grand Prize of Oberhausen International Short Film festival for the short animation The Way to Nirvana (2000). The compilation feature film Lost and Found in which his animations were the bond between 6 stories of different directors opened the 35. International Forum of Young Film Berlinale in 2005. Mait has held lectures and lead programmes about animation, organized animation work-shops, he has also opened exhibitions with his paintures and graphics and his texts have been published in six books from 1993–2002.
Nina Lyng - Denmark
Nina Lyng (b. 1973 in Copenhagen) studied in 1995 – 1996 television and media in the Danish Media School and in 1997 – 2001 in the Danish Film School, graduating from the latter as a producer. Nina has worked as a producer and production manager on many Danish films, such as Adams ćbler (2005), Den gode strřmer (2003), Postkort fra Mars (2001), Zakka West (2001), Min stedfar er et monster! (1999) etc. She has also worked as a producer at M&M Productions & Coolville Films and Endaxi Film and is a co-owner of ASA Film Production. In 2005 Nina Lyng established a production company called Nepenthe Film ApS.
Anu Lyra - Finland
Anu Lyra (b. 1976 in Helsinki) completed her BA degree in film and media design from Helsinki Polytechnic in 2004. Since 2001 she has produced 5 short films and has worked both as production manager and production assistant on various shorts and features. Her filmography also includes numerous music videos, advertisements and short films in positions varying from set decorator to producer. Anu Lyra is the producer of the film ”Perkele”, which won Grand Prix at 5th Sleepwalkers’ Student Film Festival in 2004.
