Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit / Great Britain 2005 / 95 min
Dir: Nick Park, cast (voices): Ralph Fiennes, Helena Bonham Cater, Peter Sallis

It’s ’vege-mania’ in Wallace and Gromit’s neighborhood, and our two enterprising chums are cashing in with their humane pest-control outfit, "Anti-Pesto." With only days to go before the annual Giant Vegetable Competition, business is booming, but Wallace & Gromit are finding out that running a "humane" pest control outfit has its drawbacks as their West Wallaby Street home fills to the brim with captive rabbits. Suddenly, a huge, mysterious, veg-ravaging "beast" begins attacking the town’s sacred vegetable plots at night, and the competition hostess, Lady Tottington, commissions Anti-Pesto to catch it and save the day.

After the screening there is a possibility to make short films inspired by "Wallace and Gromit" in Kinobuss workshop.

Dir: Katrin Laur, cast: Paul Oskar Soe, Juta Altmets, Katariina Lauk

Rudy (7), a devoted viking-fan, lives with his single-parent mother in a coastal fisherman’s village. Historic scrolls describe that a fierce and bloody sea-battle between the island’s Vikings and German merchants had taken place in the nearby waters of the same village where Rudy now lives. It is said the treasure of Vikings is still lying on the bottom of the sea waiting for its finder to claim it. None is keener to believe in the legend than Rudy.

One day an exact scale model of the ancient Viking’s ship joyrides nearby but unfortunately, only fathers with sons are allowed on board. Sailors tell Rudy to return next time, but where could he possibly find a father so quickly? Inspired by a beauty contest, Rudy organizes the Big Contest of Father Finding with the award being Rudy (himself), his mother (a prospective wife), and the mysterious Viking treasure.

Dir: Liisa Helminen, cast: Kari Ketonen, Roni Haarakangas, Inka Nuorgam

Wanting to know the ways of people, a pelican turns into a gawky young man who soon learns to speak, thanks to his outstanding talent in imitation. He befriends Emil and Elsa, two children who -unlike adults - see that their new neighbour "Mr Berd" is not human but a big bird wearing a suit. The Pelican Man lands a job at the opera and falls in love with a pretty ballerina, looking so much like a bird herself. Troubles start when adults too find out about "Mr Berd’s" ornithological origin.

March of the Penguins / "La Marche de l’empereur" / France 2005 / 85 min
Dir: Luc Jacquet

Each winter, alone in the pitiless ice deserts of Antarctica, deep in the most inhospitable terrain on Earth, a truly remarkable journey takes place as it has done for millennia. Emperor penguins in their thousands abandon the deep blue security of their ocean home and clamber onto the frozen ice to begin their long journey into a region so bleak, so extreme, it supports no other wildlife at this time of year. In single file, the penguins march blinded by blizzards, buffeted by gale force winds. Documentary.

Cherubic little Oliver (Barney Clark) is one of hundreds of orphans suffering near-starvation and forced labour while their hateful, pompous overseers stuff themselves with decadent dinners. He is sold as an apprentice to an amiable undertaker, but everyone else in the household is impossibly cruel to the poor boy. Escaping to the wilds of stinking, steaming London, Oliver is soon picked up by the young Artful Dodger, a thief who brings him to Fagin. In his tenement-turned-refuge, ghoulish old Fagin lords over a coterie of young pickpockets and prostitutes, including the spunky Nancy. Oliver meets a kindly, wealthy bachelor named Mr. Brownlow, who may just be the loving parent he has always wanted. But the cunning Fagin and his cohort - Nancy’s sadistic keeper Bill Sykes - cannot risk one of their foundlings squealing secrets to the authorities, and Mr. Brownlow’s opulent home boasts too many goodies to pass over.
